Thursday, Nov 26, 2009

The Shaw Group Inc. today announced it has been awarded a five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity Multiple Award Construction Contract by the U.S. Department of Defense for construction services at Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) installations throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado.

Shaw is one of eight contractors selected to compete on task orders under this contract for design, construction, supervision, equipment, materials, labor and delivery of facilities, including outdoor shooting and combat training ranges. These facilities require construction of canals and channels, dams and embankments, landfill and erosion control, irrigation and landscaping, as well as recreational fields and parks.

“Sustainable and adaptable NAVFAC facilities are critical for Navy and Marine Corps combat readiness,” said George Bevan, president of Shaw’s Environmental & Infrastructure Group. “Our core capabilities in construction and expertise in the environmental and infrastructure fields make Shaw the sound choice to strengthen and maintain Department of Defense facilities.”

The undisclosed value of the contract was included in Shaw’s Environmental & Infrastructure segment’s fourth quarter fiscal year 2009 backlog of unfilled orders.

The Shaw Group Inc. is a leading global provider of technology, engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance, fabrication, manufacturing, consulting, remediation and facilities management services for government and private sector clients in the energy, chemicals, environmental, infrastructure and emergency response markets.
